Well, I took that with a grain of salt and waited for something else to drop. And as I noted, I was told today that Hino was supposed to open a plant in the old Coldwater Creek Center. It is 980,000 sq. feet and should be just fine for them. They are supposed to build the large Over the Road (OTRs), semi's. Will continue to do the little trucks in Williamstown.
This could be a real plus for the region? I don't know the number of employees, but if it is 50 plus, it will be a long needed and much needed opportunity for some folks.
Now, I am NOT doing any Cheerleading on this, I am being a pragmatist. No Circuses, no Festivals, no Parades. Just down to earth news that I hope pays out?
Spent some time cleaning up loose ends on some much needed paperwork I am working on. It is time to start to get more aggressive with the Corruption here in Vienna.
And of course our old buddy North Korea with its firing of a missile across Japan.
"TOKYO/SEOUL - North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan's northern Hokkaido island into the sea early on Tuesday, prompting warnings to residents to take cover and drawing a sharp reaction from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe".
What did we do, we blinked- again. With the record of failed launches that land anywhere and everywhere, that missile could have easily dropped into grandma's tea pot. Plus if it really went where it was supposed too, than the N. Koreans have improved their technology even more. Will the keeper's of the World Clock move the hands closer to midnight or just look at the stars and wish they were on one of them?
That missile was either fired so fast that our infamous THAAD System could not shoot it down from S. Korea, or we had no stomach to even try? And if we have THAAD's in Japan, why did they not fire from there?
What will the Pacifist ruling S. Korea do now that he should see that the N. Korean maniac is capable of anything and trying to protect Seoul is a fool's errand? The S. Koreans have for decades hidden under the Military Umbrella of the U.S. and chosen to pump millions and millions of people into a basin of horror if the N. Koreans went off the rails. They are now reaping the rewards of that effort. While just about no place is safe for N. Korean Rockets/ Missiles, more should have been placed in better protected areas. They do exist even if not too many of them. The loss of hundreds of thousands if not millions when Seoul is attacked is now a foregone conclusion and will to be an excepted collateral damage loss when the balloon goes up. We are and will continue to be better off fighting "there" instead of "here".
It must be a foregone conclusion that the little maniac was impressed with Mr. Trump backing Japan and Mr. Abe agreeing to increase pressure on N. Korea. I know I am impressed- NOT.
Mr. Trump saying "all options are on the table", means he has already looked the other way. The second that missile entered Japanese air space, interceptor rockets should have been fired, or actually as soon as it was noted would enter Japanese air space.
As I have said before, I write some postings several days in advance and this one was started Monday with more as could be seen from Tuesday.
While I was wandering around, I did some research on a issue that has just began to pop up here. That being the inability it seems to muster enough people for Jury Duty. Seems that the County Court Clerk's Office sends out about 350- 370 notices to get sufficient number of Jurors for a Trial. Now be it a Grand Jury, or a 6 member panel for a Court Case, they want to have about 40 prospective candidates. With three Court Rooms, this would be about 120 people to respond. Seems this is not happening in the necessary numbers? Again, there appears to be little teeth in the requirement that if one does not show up, there will be any issue for the person? Folks, with so much going on here that needs and actually demands the presence of a responsible jury to sit and make a determination, we should be able to do our Duty?
Those receiving notices and failing to reply correctly should be hauled in and forced not to just face the Court, but to be held accountable for the failure to do the requirement. 'nuff said'.
