Here we are at the end of another year. Time for each of us to do a bit of review on ourselves, our families, our City, our State and our Nation. The County is a non issue, it just keeps bouncing along.
The Federal shutdown was long overdue and should have been a done deal the moment the late President Bush was laid to rest. Would have been a two week leverage time period for Mr. Trump to do something with what has passed for a Republican controlled House/ Senate. Instead he dillies and dallied the time away.
Tremendous squalling about the poor Federal Employees with no pay. Well, those actually laid off can go and file for unemployment. They are going into week two now and should be able to get claims processed. Once all is settled, they may have to pay back some or all of the unemployment, but still it is a help now. The ones in a bind are those working with no pay. But as I posted before, when all is said and done everyone should get all pass due wages.
Believe I heard a talking head say what I have also been saying to some. Instead of whining and sniveling about money for the Wall, just send a Construction Battalion or two for 30- 60 days to a Wall area. Let them build as a "Training Exercise" and after the time is up, send them home and bring in some more for the same area or a new one? Remember, they brought them in to reinforce the border in mid November for about 30 days. Will be a bit tough for anyone to mess with that as all funds are in place through 1 October 2019. Can build a lot of Wall in the next 9 months. In fact, since this is to be called a matter of "National Security", maybe just bring them all to the Border for the duration of this Fiscal Year. Biggest question might be how many of those are still available in current force structures?
By the time you read this, most of you should be where ever for a couple of more days or so. And hopefully, one and all got there safely and will return in the same condition.
Am going to give my self a day or so to contemplate the New Year. Have had the good or maybe bad luck to find some new information on just how Corrupt the Judicial System in this State is- still.
So enjoy the incoming New Year and be safe. 'nuff said'.
