One Patronage job on the West Virginia Work Development Board went to our very own Mr. Rapp. It had to be Patronage as he is a dyed in the wool Progressive Liberal and probably ran around Wood County along with the Defacto Mayor putting their verbal knives in a few backs?
The good thing is that on 30 June 2017, his term ran out and maybe someone who gives a rats a** for the folks rather than image? Or maybe an "automatic reappointment" if all goes badly?
I have to say, that I was very pleased to see where that Doctor from Daniels, West Virginia was convicted of writing prescriptions from his home for 22,255 pain pills for 271 patients without seeing even one of them. His prescribing led to three deaths from Oxycodone. Received a sentence of 20 years. Way, way too short. His office was said to have received over $20K for their efforts?
Now to get an idea how the switch from the Democans to the Republicrats for Mr. Justice is going, he received a resounding raspberry on his $1.6 Billion Infrastructure Bond Referendum from the State Repubicrats Party. Only one member of State Executive Committee meeting in Princeton voted to support the road bond.
Now with 40,000 supposed jobs and no increase in taxes (thought that had already been done with the $.03/ gallon for gas, $30. to $51.50 for vehicle tab renewal and the 5%- 6% increase in vehicle tax sales?), are getting the infamous Bureaucratese in that no, no new taxes, just the approval to buy the bonds for the roads? Supposedly collecting new taxes since 1 July 2017?
Very possible, that Mr. Justice is going to be a "one trick pony" and come November 2020 will be sent back to his Casino? He seems a bit too slick by half?
Now I have been critical of the Vienna Police Department over the years in not reporting and having in the paper what is going on here in Vienna. Well it is said one must be careful what one asks for? On the 25th, the paper listed five names and alleged crimes for the 24th of August. Okay, so far so good, than on the 27th, the same five names and alleged crimes were released again. Now how damn dumb or is it journalistic incompetence that the folks can not be trusted too remember two days back? Of course many do not look or care? I do, as I am interested in what our multi million dollar force is doing?
And it seems our NDO group is alive and well with a proposed Ordinance being to be voted on and a hearing in the City of Fairmont. A lady who has lived there for 48 years is suddenly worried about her employment and housing as it has others in the State. Where are actual examples of people being thrown out of their homes or losing their jobs because they are now GLBTQIA? It is true a few too many bigots in the State, but they are everywhere. Now that I am aware that this is a Statewide Group rather than just the ones wandering around P'burg, I am starting to smell the infamous far left full of Progressive Liberals working a special agenda that in the end may not be all that it is being presented to be?
It is said that in 2016, West Virginia had more towns and cities adopt anti-discrimination Ordinances than any other State. Really very interesting if True as we are a very, very small State. Yet, at this point the group does not want to approach the Legislature for a State Law? I would call this a low level Coup D'état that is not obvious to most people?
Well, once again the Sears and K-Mart stores here have escaped getting the axe? But again, I ask what level of daily sales protect a store, any store from being closed? Or is it as much the fact that there are few others left around us versus other areas? For myself, I would not miss either one if they were shut down. Poor Customer Service for me is a deal killer and they are seemingly masters of the art?
The Report that points out how poor the Health is of so many in what is called Appalachia should not be a surprise to many who actually live in the areas? Anyone who watches what is in the grocery carts that so many push around in the stores will see more soda pop, candy, cookies, chips than fresh vegetables and other healthy foods. I like or did like many of the above, but have had to make some hard choices in years past to be healthier or not.
And sadly, the quality of Health Care could be a whole lot better for many even though with Medicaid or whatever program they are in? I can NOT remember seeing some of our more portly (if I may use that term), at the so called Health and Wellness Center on 29th? Even though I know I might enjoy walking the perimeter there, I would not go due to the politicizing of how it got built. Coulda/ shoulda been elsewhere, but 2016 being an Election year, votes were far more important than and even now then our Vienna Seniors.
Some of the Governor's wanting to change Medicaid need be very careful in how they make changes. For those who should NOT be on the program, cut them out and make them go to work. If there legitimately, don't just give them the axe upon getting work, allow a small and I mean small window of reductions to protect them for the first few months. This pertains to not just Medicaid, but also Food Stamps, Housing Chits, whatever program? 'nuff said'.
