But all this brouhaha about the empty seat is sad. The B.S. that is tearing the County Committee apart should not end up costing the real issue; the people of the District that have no potential representation to continue to have the same issue any longer than need be. Are any of the three applicants any good? That is up to P'burg City Council to figure out. The best solution would have been a snap election where the folks chose their man or woman. But due to archaic processes that have been initiated over the years only the (fill in the blank), is qualified to make the choice. People are just to damn dumb- right?
Anytime EGO's enter into most Political issues the only loser is going to be the people. While I think the reasons I AM TRULY AWARE OF did not justify kicking Mr. Cornelius to the curb were worthy, it was important to some to do so. So we went through weeks/ months of back and forth. Okay, the State Committee for "Technical Reasons" took the easy way out and did not address a few items like the appointments of 18 new County Committee members in the 7- 10 days running up to the improper meeting by the Coup d'état group. This would have made moot what is happening now. If the 10 do not have any standing before that meeting than Mr. Conley and crew should not be collecting names now.
In the defense of some who feel disenfranchised, it seems to be hard to get ahold of Mr. Cornelius. Seems he does not answer emails (if one even knows it), or his phone is MIA (missing in action).
I am going to make it simple; if and I repeat IF one want to be a big frog in a little pool, than it has best be a simple task to contact that person. If one does not want access to them; than one does not deserve the PRIVILEGE of serving the People in any capacity. And I stress "SERVING". Once Elected or Appointed most quickly forget why they should be there and immediately allow arrogance to over shadow the realities of the Position.
In the interest of the 7th District in P'burg, the list should be done again. But ALL submissions need go to Mr. Cornelius. If he is too important at least in his own mind to be contacted by ANY Republican anywhere in Wood County; then resign.
And now according to the local media called TV, Mr. Cornelius wants a State wide gathering of Party Officials here in August? Would any lucid person want to be here with the chance this mess will blow up again? It is certainly not done per Mr. Conley. And as noted he is still apparently collecting applicants for the P'burg seat? I am a little suspicious that some of those who feel deprived of applying were put up to it by Mr. Conley and crew? With no clear Duke in the Dukedom, there is enough confusion to keep the other Party big wigs out of here. Hopefully they will sense the undercurrent and know to avoid what is called a rip tide? 'nuff said
