This deal on the upcoming Wood Schools preps for audit is interesting to say the least? Letter grades is a big point on this system. Like an A, B, D, F? That is what I got when I was in 1- 12 and in College. So what is new about this is a bit confusing to me? But I admit I am not very smart?
Giving more responsibility at the local level could be a very good thing IF and I repeat IF it is used to actually improve the overall Curriculum to teach the kids rather than experiment on them. Based on years of new fads and more failures it is time to begin to teach again. It boggles my mind that the good old 3 R's that worked for so long are now more of a wish than an act? I fully realize that the teachers have limited or no control over the kids so if they don't want to knuckle down as in the old days not much can or will be done. Still somewhere along the line the teacher's have to regain control without a lot of options for the kids. Either try to learn or off to the Principle and detention for another opportunity to get it then. Control and respect for the front liners is where it starts or ends.
WVU-P is looking for money they say? The new President, Mr. Lamkin has seemed to back off the need for raises now and is pointing out the shortfall in real maintenance. I don't believe him for a second. He was all in earlier on raises to "retain" staff to guide the students. As I have noted before, no one is going anywhere that has been here for any length of time. No amount of money thrown at a teacher is going to make a better teacher out of that person. It should be a reward for a job well done that is supportable by results in how the kids do in their class requirements/ subjects.
He is spinning the facts to try and show how decrepit the facilities are now. I still say the double digit increases in the past were too much towards raises and too little for repairs. Now they have gotten bitten in the fannies and struggling with reality. Still think if the Truth is allowed to come out, there will be raises put in and mostly hidden under cute little titles and line items.
Did a road trip on Monday A.M., and found the changing of the guard at the water works. Same crew as is usual. Than surprise, surprise; cruised up to 41st and it seems (?) another 100 or so cases of water? I am comparing pictures from earlier but think something is again up?
Point being that if Chemours is providing water to us for the folks from 27th/ 28th to Boaz and they are getting a case a day, then how can we be giving some guy hundreds of cases to water pumpkins? It might be asked but what City resources are being diverted for a sweetheart deal? Just asking?
Seems if Chemours is somehow obligated to provide drinking water to the City at least from 28th to Boaz customers by the EPA (?), than that is what the water is to be used for. IF and I repeat IF the City is getting too much, than Chemours should reduce the shipments. Are the folks still getting only a case a day? I have alleged before and will again that there are some deals going on that are NOT in the best interests of the whole Community. The folks need to remember and understand that Mr. Rapp and Mr. Azinger the Elder are joined at the hip with DuPont?
Guess, that the new water system is now pushed back to about the 8th? Little things going South are not uncommon; so no biggie there. Just hope that Mr. Rapp is telling the Truth? His history is against him. And still, the City South of 28th is still supposedly months away from its fix?
Top DuPont executive may testify in C8 cases
Jeff Mordock, The News Journal 7:34 p.m. EDT July 25, 2016 (Posted here 3:45 A.M., 27 July 2016)
Here is a partial extract of the above article:
"An Ohio federal judge told DuPont attorneys they must provide more information about where the C8 liabilities will be assigned after it merges with The Dow Chemical Co. and splits into three companies.
If DuPont does not address the issue to his satisfaction, U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus Jr. said he will order a "very high-level person" from DuPont be forced to testify in a closed-door hearing. Sargus did not identify the executive, except saying it would have to be someone with "great knowledge" of the liabilities. He added that the individual must bring documentation to support their testimony".
"I am going to order a very high-level person, someone who is intimately familiar and was at the table in making this deal is at the table in guiding how the new corporation will be formed," Sargus said in a telephone conference call with attorneys on both sides.
In recent news coverage, Chemours has been quite open on its non-involvement in the C8 issued because it has never used it in its manufacturing processes. Remember now that it is an offshoot of DuPont and was alleged to have to absorb the C8 problems? At the same time, it seems the EPA is or had required it to provide drinking water and the new water Filtration Systems to Vienna.
And to date, there has been no discussion of the Medical Monitoring that is prevalent in some of the other parts of the MOV? No discussion of the "Cumulative" effects on people either?
A little more of the story:
"DuPont attorneys told Sargus it has not yet been determined how the post-merger liability will be assigned. (Whoa and back up the train).
"There has been no determination whatsoever in terms of where the liabilities that currently are held by DuPont will go if they ultimately go into any of three contemplated spinoff transactions," said John Burlingame, an attorney with Squire Patton Boggs who is representing DuPont, during the conference call with Sargus.
Sargus was unmoved by their claims and expressing concern the liability information was not already provided to the court".
"The longer this takes and the more difficult it becomes to get this information, truthfully, the more I'm determined that there is something that needs to be fretted out here," Sargus said."I hope it turns out to be the big nothing. But I can tell you from experience in this job, the more things aren't disclosed, the more suspicious everybody becomes, and I think that's the situation were are in right now."
I will admit I am not very smart, but watching what is going on, there are many, many contradictions on who is going too or not do something. In Vienna, we seem to be leaning heavily on "not"?.
We all need to remember " Men stutter, B.S. walks and money talks". This Community has for sure had a lot of years recently where there is too much "Stuttering, walking and talking? 'nuff said.
