AGAIN, I am going to try and get the Town Hall done from the 11th of June. But oh so much going on here.
Mr. Elam who was there was asked by Mr. Conley if he had anything to say? Said that Mr. Conley was doing fine. He noted also that apparently Mr. Azinger (Elder), was there, but I did not see him.
He did say that momentum was building to get City back to the people on how money was being spent. REALLY? My emphasis. I for one would like to know what has been accomplished?
Ms. Powell: Is something being put together on ways to do money?
Mr. Conley: For example, we approached Economic Development Director position. Have nothing against Paul Thornton, just not having that position.
Someone: Why are you against the position?
Mr. Conley: Because earlier it was done by the previous Mayor (Mr. Nohe). NOTE: It has been noted to me that Mr. Nohe was a Real Estate Agent. Whether Residential or Commercial or both, I don't know. But had the background and his speed dial on his phone. :ETON.
Ms. Powell: We also have County Development Director. Mr. Conley: Lindsay Piersol. (SIC)?
Mr. Conley: We used to be known as the Miracle Mile, brought in millions and millions of dollars. Thousands and thousands of jobs. We no longer have property to develop.
Someone: Krogers is coming in?
Mr. Conley: Have heard rumors.
Someone: Did Thornton go out and get the new clothing business to the Mall?
Someone: No, Mall does its own thing.
Ms. Powell: During Budget Cycle Meeting, was discussed to by Mr. Bibbee that the Monthly Activity Reports would be provided to note what Econ. Dev. job?
Mr. Conley/ Mr. Elam: Have gotten a couple, but are basically Daily Itinerary
Mr. Conley: How many employees in the City? Mr. Wilson help me with that?
Mr. Wilson: 81 + some part time.
Someone: 91 including part time. (This is too high as many part time are the ladies in the Police Department and I believe are 8 of them. They are already in the 81 count.)
Mr. Elam: Biggest expense is payroll and what they pay for Health Insurance.
Mr. Conley: Future increase in headcount must be approved by Council.
Mr. Conley: The Premium for a family be it 2 or 10 is $94. (As a point of information, it is three (3), or more).
Ms. Harris: Is the $2,500., for just the Police Department or all employees?
Mr. Conley: It is for a Police Officer that has already been through the Police Academy. After a year with Vienna, he gets the payment.
Wanted to try and get done, but Meeting covers so much ground and while some things may seem useless to some of you, there are also many who have no idea how this City works?
Will be done very soon I think? 'nuff said'.
