While reviewing some sites for any pearl of wisdom versus a huge scoop of crap, I noticed the following request:
"Invite your friends to like this page"
I have noticed this before, but did not give it much thought until now. Than it dawned on me that if one had to ask for people to "like" their page or have them ask their friends to like the page, it must not have much really going for it?
Seems more of an "Ego" thing than a legitimate point? But some folks need that more than others, so the Oil/ Stroke route works for them.
On this little corner of the World, I do not ask anyone to like this page. One either likes what I put in here to try and educate the Community on what has, is and will continue to happen if they do not pursue hard but needed change, or not, their choice each day.
I do not try to show Favoritism, Cronyism myself or those plus Nepotism in others. Some have been skewered by when they thought that because I personally might like them, I will over look the errors in their Public Performance. Example: I like Mr. Thornton and have said so several times. Still question his City Position? Like Mr. Black, but have caught him not being truthful to me more times than I care to count. Apples and Oranges folks, at least to me.
It is encouraged to read, think, talk to friends, neighbors, family on what is going on here even if you disagree with me. Your awareness is more important to me than a Thumbs up or a Thumbs down. Your comments good or bad as long as within propriety are welcome. I enjoy the give and take which gives me a chance to clarify or even eat crow as appropriate.
I have in the past thanked folks for their support, but that turned into a bit of a disaster as I sometimes welcomed snakes, backstabbers and hypocrites into the circle deeper than I felt was justified?
It is deeply and I mean deeply appreciated when a sincere like or comment is made. But I do not thank the person privately anymore as a matter of practice.
Did receive the most rewarding comment a week or so back. One walked up on my porch and talked with me for about 15 minutes on what was happening here in Vienna. Than out of the blue the person said "it is too bad you did not get elected Mayor. Things would have been a lot different today". Took me by surprise, but showed that those with questions, listen and have open minds can see what they see. In this case MY Ethics, Integrity and Morals. Something sadly missing today in the City Administration.
It was sad on Ms. Bush's passing, but at 92, the Lady has had a full life and per her a great one. I do take exception to one Mr. Stone saying she was nothing but a drunken nag or some words to that effect. She may have been, but to say that at this moment in my estimation was highly inappropriate.
Can't even blame it on him being a Democrat/ Progressive Liberal. He was a lousy excuse for a Republican of any Color.
