And please note during the raids in France and Belgium, woman blew herself up with a bomb while in the a raid location.
And that Professor in Marietta saying not feasible for ISIS to attack us here? They are here now and we who are still awake know this. The terror cells are not limited to Europe; we need be alert and observant at all times. To be 4- 6 hours away via a plane is hardly what a prudent person would call a geographic boundary in this day and age.
The FBI currently has 900 investigations ongoing in the 50 States. And in the past 20 months arrested 82 ISIS supporters. 30% of which (24 people), did NOT want to go to Syria/ Iraq to fight, instead wanted to stay here and do attacks. One can believe the above noted Professor or the FBI data that is being released by people such as the head of the FBI and those in the U.S. Legislature who have oversight and briefings on what is going on today.
He is probably right that there will be no landing craft landing off the coast of New Jersey with 50 black clothed people splashing ashore. It will be the onesies and twosomes coming in via Canada, Mexico (just arrested 5 ISIS trying to come in via Honduras/ Guatemala with fake passports), or an East/ West plane trip that we need worry about. They are here and they be a comin' folks. One talking head that used to be a CIA double agent says he is fairly positive something else bad is going to happen in the next two weeks. We need all Pray that he is wrong; very wrong.
The Canadians are planning for 25K. That is even worse for us; the Northern border is even more porous than the southern one but does not get the publicity. They can literally just walk through the forest and enter the U.S. That is a fact and done every day.
I can and will say from the bottom of my heart to those youthful today that will be living through the horrors of tomorrow; may God protect you one and all. This Country has at best one hope and that will hinge on the next Presidential Election OR in worst and I mean worst case scenario we get hit again big time. Would that move Mr. Obama; probably not, but at least would make the next Election a better chance for change.
In noting the article on reducing the Business Personal Property Tax and its effects, the one thing that jumped out and scared the Hell out of me was the part on "giving local governments the power to levy income, sales or severance taxes at the local level". Does anyone have an idea who would jump all over those opportunities? Just lifting the cap on levy rates would be a disaster in Vienna I fear. Any and I repeat any tax relief in any form is strictly for Election Votes. By early November 2016, there are going to be some big surprises in rates and raises in Vienna. There is NO doubt in my mind that the property taxes for Home Owners can be reduced with no problem for Vienna. Think twice folks; vote once.
And this Mr. O'Leary's comment on West Virginia being a good place to "live and work" is at best half right. Plus he only said "good". This for sure would be a great place to live if it was not so hard for working people to survive here. Anyone and I specifically am pointing a neutral finger at Mr. O'Leary who thinks this is good place to work is off a bunch. All the low end wage jobs do not promote upward mobility for most people. But note, he is a high paid Government Employee so that speaks for itself.
Here is a thought; based on the proposed $80K a year for the next P'burg Mayor on 1 Jan 2017, whomever it may be? With 28K people, it is almost three times Vienna with its 10K and shrinking at the moment population. Take the $80K and divide by 3, which equals $26,700 in round numbers. Now is that what we should pay the Vienna Mayor? 1/3 the population, 1/3 the Salary plus of course benefits.
Currently about $48K and a salivating Mr. Rapp to get a nice, very nice increase if he can trick/ fool enough of you to vote for him again? Right now is getting about 35- 40% less in salary than the Fire/ Police Chiefs. And just about all of his department heads make more than him at this point. I am suspecting a $12- 15K increase if City Council is left alone on this. After all, they too are looking at a nice jump. But since the City Atty., has determined that the City Council members are "City Employees" watch out for benefits being added instead of just cash? Raising one's right hand 99.9999% of the time for a "yes" vote can be hard work; especially if one also knows it does NOT benefit all of Vienna as a whole?
And our County Commission is starting to sniff around that 1% Sales Tax like an alley dog outside of a garbage can. I am going to wonder how anyplace in West Virginia expects to be more competitive when adding tax after tax at level after level? I am not very smart, but another 1% here means that Ohio is 1% cheaper than us; so why build here and pay who knows what? Instead go to Ohio which is eliminating business taxes and save money.
Keep watching and listening to the County Commissioners as they look at the Home Rule chances for them. One can see their mouths watering at the 1% sales tax. But they sure don't want it be committed for road repair type uses. How would you give all the county employees a pay raise if they did not all work for the road department?
The never failing to surprise Mr. Couch states "With a sales tax though it might be another burden on the less fortunate when they are trying to buy groceries? Ya, think asks I ?
The West Virginia County Commission Association is soliciting the opinion of commissioners throughout the state on the topic of Home Rule. Commissioner Blair Couch said. And there should be no doubt on the County Commission Associations position? Sadly, anything to do with money is pretty much a done deal in this State. No matter the damage to the what I call "common" people. "Just shell out as told and we will take care of you folks", saith the Commissioners near and far.
The gentleman Mr. Tebay notes "When you raise the levy rate you put all the burden on the property owners. With a sales tax you’re getting people coming in here. I think it is a fairer tax,” said Commissioner Bob Tebay. This is great until people start adding up the 1% and the 1% and the 6% and realize they need to go somewhere else cheaper.
NOTE: the city has posted two (2) notices for a "John Mansville Cleanup & Reuse Meeting"
One is on the Thursday the 3rd of December @ 6:30 PM. The information can be found on the city web site just below the Holly Days Christmas Parade. The other is posted on the City Calendar for the 4th of December @ 6:30 PM. The information for that meeting is noted on the Calendar also. Would suggest one be quite careful on this? Don't really feel there are two meetings? But which one is correct is not known to me at this time. Email to Rapp done.

Jesse Watters Leaves Juan Williams Speechless After Takedown of President Obama
Published November 18, 2015
I am telling you folks, this is priceless and than some:
Fox Nation:
Jesse Watters left Juan Williams speechless on "The Five" after a takedown of President Obama's actions in the war on terror."I'm actually surprised. Obama usually golfs and flies to fundraisers after terrorist attacks," Watters said. "This time I think he released five guys from Gitmo and then showed up late for a moment of silence for the victims."
"Maybe Obama's got some great hashtags up his sleeve?" he said.
But Watters didn't stop there.
"When you have Bill Maher in France being tougher on terrorism than the President of the United States, you're in a lot of trouble."
Watters noted that Obama has been so distracted fighting the war on cops that he forgot about the war on terror.
And, finally, Watters listed the lies Obama told the American people about the fight against ISIS that the media called him out on.
"It's crazy," Watters said at the end of his litany of Obama's failures -- leaving Juan Williams silent.
Remember, I recently noted that out of the mouths of babes come words of wisdom. Mr. Watters not only hit the nail on the head; he drove it all the way in with one hit. 'nuff said.
