As an aside, put out clean clothes yesterday for after my weekly shower :-). I apparently got out a pull over that was the same basic color as the one I had on before. The wife of my life caught it and changed to another color saying I had already worn that color. I said I just grabbed whatever was on the top of a pile.
Am sure many that many of you also have duplicate colored shirts and pants for basic running around? Only difference for me is that some of mine have a pocket and most don't. I don't get excited about the pockets much. Only have two (2) people with their hands in any of my pockets. My wife and Mr. Rapp. Both looking for that last penny. She is usually much faster than he is and far, far more deserving.
I was quite interested in the OVU TV coverage on the ACE plant for a couple of reasons the other day. Of course our wandering Minstrel and even his City Atty., were piled up getting their Photo Op. Than of course, the usual newspaper article on it. Mr. Thornton had hinted as I noted in earlier postings on this Facility, just not the School involvement. I think Mr. Rapp and Mr. Skogstad were there trying to close a deal. But since there is always the unwritten deal to give him a Photo Op, he got caught again.
What surprised me the most was the layout of the plant. The burn off flame part of the layout down by the truck scales is interesting. And using 600 tons of coal a day; is that Monday- Friday or 24/7? Will the new facility use the train sidings that are still supposed to be there or run trucks up Grand Central Mall to River Road or a left on 28th? That would be a mess and most dangerous considering how fast some of current drivers go now. More so trying to cut off a truck changing lanes with not enough clearance.
With little or no Law enforcement now, we could have some real disasters out there? Truck don't stop on a dime and that is a hard learned fact for some in their puddle jumpers. Train would be the best egress for that coal if the City and School can get them on board. Then can dump a train car section quickly by having a set up where a lift picks up the loaded cargo part off the frame and just tips it over to empty it. Don't know if there is enough room there for that but would for sure suggest a little thought on that for bringing in the coal?
And just what is the plan to move the finished product out? A light at the end of River Road and Grand Central to allow the trucks egress South that way? Will be great for either a truck to run a red light or one of the simpletons who are color blind. And there is of course going North and using River Road to circumvent most of Vienna that way? Mr. Rapp or whomever is NOT going to allow any Freight trucks to use the Mall street from 23rd going North gracefully in any quantity. Again, an opportunity for a real mess with the production of 3000 barrels (42 gallon size?), of liquid products a day. Not sure on how dangerous ethanol, methanol and some of the other energy related products are, but that as it is now is a pretty tough intersection sometimes. Pipelines down to the river to barges are for sure an option IF and I repeat IF the Railroad will allow them under or even over their tracks?
I am all for 60 high paying jobs for Vienna; we can sure use them. But maybe I am too detail oriented here in the moving of products in and out within an area that is not what it was 30 or 40 years ago? In any case just some thoughts that I hope someone will address very carefully for the safety of all?
After all the deception that Mr. Rapp has pulled in the past few years, a prudent person might have a hard time believing anything he puts out. The Police Annex that started as a "building" to house the emergency response vehicle and its contents if they needed to be unloaded. About $700K later we have the new building that is far from what was the beginning when it was approved as an idea.
Then we get all the way down to the new water tank at the end of ninth street built to provide water to the businesses. Another lie and it finally came out that is was the intention to use that water as part of the reciprocal agreement to provide water to P'burg if needed?
And if one goes back in between, the Johns Manville project that was bought to prevent a company from buying it to clean pipes used in the gas/ oil drilling sites and the slush/ slag pool on the lower 17 or 18 acres. Now we have a park in the making and still questions on a ravine that existed forever per the people who worked there and said over and over it was used for a dump site. Mr. Rapp says it never existed. Who does one believe? They who were there doing the work or someone who can not tell the truth to save his soul?
And we started out with a filtration system for each group of wells at $6 Million per grouping. Now we are getting the "oh see what we are going to save you" for one filtration system up on 60th St. for just $6 Million dollars.
There is not a doubt in my mind he will sell out Vienna from 23rd St. South and Grand Central Mall to the West up to 32d St. to get that plant as part of his Obamalite legacy. Has anyone given any thought to having Neale just six blocks away if something goes South at the Plant?
Maybe the considerations to shut it down and move everything up the Vienna School site is not so bad after all just for any safety considerations? And still, that is only 42 Street or so.
As I continue to think on this, it almost seems this set up is A** backwards? The plant part should have been set up first and then a decision on the lower area? But as always, agenda was more important than well thought out and open results. This is possibly not a good idea with so much planning needed to bring in raw materials and take out finished product?
Just like the C8 cumulative effect question and the above are of course just questions, but someone needs to be up front with us on them? 'nuff said'
