I would like to note here that on the 21st, I received a response from the Supreme Court of West Virginia that I had sent to them about the lack of cooperation from the County Court Circuit Clerk and the Wood County Circuit Court itself.
I am not going into detail on it at this time other than to note that the Court did take the time to respond to me in a most courteous manner. Some issues were not addressed which of course to a prudent person might smack of a CYA attempt in Charleston? But is hand in glove with many of the issues I have pointed out about West Virginia and how it conducts its business. And again, I am deeply appreciative at the courtesy of the response.
The highly discussed program to provide clean needles to the addicts here is very interesting to say the least? Now, I am not aware of any HIV issue; Hepatitis Issue or any other blood borne diseases going on here to warrant this extra concern?
There are few things I can agree with Mr. Rapp on as his positons are always politically motivated versus the welfare of those he is supposedly representing, while I take great pride in being a "people person". And lets face it, the drug addicts don't usually vote (legally), so have little value to him. But in this instance; now wait for this, I agree with him.
I have strong, strong concerns on starting a program that is said to be based on requiring those exchanging needles to be obligated to receive an educational or counseling sessions. The users are NOT going to do this for long until most revert to the old system or do trades among themselves to get new needles probably for drugs while circumventing the classes. This would soon end up being a waste of money for limited results.
If and I repeat IF one is truly interested in stopping, than what they need are good rehab programs and afterwards access to 24/7 follow up as they feel they need. This state and actually most of the country does not have the necessary rehab facilities for those without a lot of bucks. Not everyone can go to the Betty Ford Clinic.
Drug addiction is a lifelong issue and needs lifelong processes/ programs to defeat. Why for example is Alcoholics Anonymous so successful for so many? Because there are meetings all the time pretty much everywhere. Narcotics Anonymous is the same concept for other types of drug users. Yes, Alcohol is an addictive drug. It may be legal, but to many it will kill you just as dead; ruin families just as much, but is 100% legal over age 21.
I was so pleased and probably exhilarated when pot failed in its attempt to be legalized in Ohio. I know from personal experience that pot IS a gateway drug for other, harder drugs. And anyone who says it is not is lying to whomever they are talking too and more so to themselves. I watched several people/ families I cared deeply for die/ destroyed from drugs; both legal and illegal. Those involved were mostly starters with pot and evolved to harder drugs. In truth, one died from clearly psychological problems for which she could get no help and after a while I think just gave up on trying too? In the end she died too.
As for our resident progressive, liberal media representative, I again read her column as I do each Sunday. Not for any expectation of a realistic discourse on the Truth of a matter, but her slanted and oh so unrealistic take on reality? This time was no exception; she did as most of the biased media does today, took the side of the poor abused Syrian refugees and their right no matter what to come here.
Had Mr. Obama set up the no fly zones just a few years back, many of those on the run now could have gone to those areas for safety. No fly could just as easily been no entrance by certain groups. Al Qaida; for sure ISIS and even the Syrian Army as it spread death among so many innocents. He chose as is his wont to let it work itself out. Now, we have hundreds of thousands fleeing the Middle East and North Africa into Europe.
There are sure about 98% that are true innocents, but it is the other 2% that we can not identify or sort out that is the problem. We are all aware of the one that came through Greece as a refugee and partook in the Paris slaughter. But than we have the five who were just stopped by the Honduran folks while trying to come here for what purpose? And just now, I heard (8:01 PM, 22 Nov.), where eight more were apprehended at the U.S./Texas border. They are alleged to have fake passports; they were not coming to help Ms. Myer bake cookies. Eight sounds like one hell ova death squad if Paris is any indication?
So in the interest of those who can not defend themselves in their homeland- the U.S.A., we have to slow the flood to a very, very manageable trickle till verification is possible. This is not going to happen overnight and may already be too late? 'nuff said.
