I think I am jealous of Washington County and Marietta residences getting to join an Electric Aggregation Plan. This is where they can shop among Utilities to provide their
Electricity. A broker seems to imply potential savings up to 50% versus current provider?
And the way AEP is trying to get rate increases, we could sure use the competition here.
Saw a news report where there is supposed to be one ATV for every 1 1/2 households in West Virginia? Yet, there is a move afoot to provide free breakfast for every child in Wood County. And other Counties already in the CEP program. I am missing something here folks? I noted in an earlier post just a day or two ago on people on their 3 new pick up in 18 or so months and as an aside have seen them towing at least one ATV. Another person with a new vehicle, other means of transportation and large numbers of new and expensive toys for the kid. Yet, the Government is going to provide free meals? It appears no means testing of any kind? Yet, now this; do I care if some one has ATV's? No as long as they are taking proper care of the children in the home.
Just got a check from one of the big box stores in a Small Claim Court case. It shows that if one is willing to face up to them; one can win. Will not go into details, but I paid my money for something. Sent it in for repair, came back busted. Sent it back and in 7 weeks both times together, they could not get it right. I complained; they very nicely, but firmly gave me the infamous middle digits. And the rest is history. Point, don't accept lousy service and let a business take your money. Process not too hard. SAVE all paperwork you receive. Credit card receipts/ repair turn in slips. They cannot argue with the truth. In fact if anyone has an issue, I would be willing to help review to file correctly. CAVEAT: this is NOT to be construed as any type of Legal advice. Only preparing paperwork; rest on you.
How about that gas. Flew up to $2.399 and two days later done to $2.269. Crazy world we live in and must deal with.
How about that where Mr. Boehner to resign not only Speaker of the House Position but his Congressional seat as well? Has been seemingly very ineffective for some time. Mr. Obama has had his lunch time after time. Senate has been a mish mash, but the House had lots of votes if sent in one direction. In his defense, Tea Party folks get a little zealotry and make a plan of actions hard to come by. In any case a new era be a comin'.
Well, my mind has finally been made up on the Fire Board Fee (Tax). Mr. Gainer commented the Law is so poorly written that it has at least two flaws:
1. No protections for the Tax Payers how the money will be spent.
2. County has NO control over how the money is collected or spent.
(I feel so strongly on this I have changed the format I originally used).
It is my thought that Mr. Merritt should run not walk away from this thing. It might be whomever gets wrapped up in the "accountability"/ "responsibility" for the maintenance of this Tax could be the one in front of a Judge someday? Although honestly, in this State it would take an exceptional practitioner of Jurisprudence to protect the Citizens of this County. And I am not sure after Thursday if one is here at this time?
In conclusion on this matter I am NOT signing anything for the Tax. It needs to be rewritten or repealed and completely started over. I am not for a second saying any of the current Fire Chiefs would do anything not correct and proper intentionally. But knowing how the VFD operates with its spending, I can only err on the side of the People. 'nuff said.
