Wanted to try and get the Town Hall Meeting done, but also had a bit of material on Mr. Loughry and his issues with whomever? Than lo and behold, the roof fell in on him.
I am an old, old Soldier type and have become jaded, skeptical and seldom surprised at what goes on around me. But to have a Supreme Court Justice, a former State Department Head and a Police Officer all go down on what seems the same day did surprise me.
Has been pointed out before by me that One (maybe God?), could pick West Virginia up and drop it into the Philippines as the newest Province and it would still be business as usual. Noted there, the Chief Justice got removed from Office and her attempt to override it via the Philippine Senate got denied so far by the balance of their Supreme Court.
Noted how it was necessary for me to fight their Government all the way to the Cabinet of than President Arroyo, who herself was imprisoned albeit "gently" for supposed Corruption. When Mr. Duterte became President after Mr. Aquino, who was the one that jailed her, she was turned loose and I am not sure if she is still there or in her Mansion in San Francisco? Huge number of very, very rich Filipinos live in Frisco.
I have digressed and am sorry, but it is such an interesting Country over there where anything goes if one has money, power or prestige. Oh, sounds like Vienna, doesn't it?
Still cannot remember any day when so many Government People there got busted for so many sad things. It is my thought that the worst here, was the former Department Head that got arrested for stealing from the Volunteer Fire Department. That is to me the lowest of the low. How he could have gotten away with so much escapes me when the VFD's are supposedly all living hand to mouth?
What should have been interesting was when asked about other State Justices being under investigation, the statement from the Federal Attorney was basically "no comment". Don't be surprised if more go down and hopefully, they will work their way up to Wood County and clean that nest out some too?
Keep reading "wait till 2020, wait till 2020" and we can change our local lack of Governance. What is going on is protecting Mr. Rapp as if he is removed before than, the City Council if any left would choose the new Mayor. There would be NO Election, just another Coronation.
Now why is this to make any difference as long as Mr. Rapp is gone? Well, if one is paying any attention at all, one might just say this:
The current Pied Piper of Vienna person while not a Mayor as was/ is, were/are the past two, is seemingly the unofficial chair of the "Elect Roger Conley for Mayor" campaign even though it has not been legally filed as in action? But the campaign is very, very much in play. Not sure when it will have to come out into the open, but not sure either that what is going on now is legal either. We do live in a very peculiar State where the Law is concerned.
For those who follow the News in whatever form, it is reasonably apparent by the cheerleading that is going on and the attempts to protect Mr. Rapp until the next Election. To me that is the wrong approach and removing Mr. Rapp and as many of the rest of them for cause at anytime seems far more beneficial? The City is hemorrhaging Tax Dollars for so many reasons and not all of them are worthwhile. Is far better to have a "Special Election" for some Council Members and a possible beginning of a sea change for Vienna at the soonest is far better than two and a half more years of who knows what? Even the new "Wannabe" is showing smidgeons of Corruption already. Wants to let it be whatever for some years rather than cut the head off the Viper?
It would be my thought, that if one is really for the folks here, one will do whatever at the soonest to try and help them? But what do I know? 'nuff said'.
