News Friday that unemployment was up in Wood County is troublesome as the Lady up in the meeting with VP Pence in Morgantown was all gaga on Manufacturing coming here and wages are up and blah, blah, blah. It is always the soft soap routine when anyone starts talking about the work/ wages here. This area sucks to be honest. Low wages and minimal quality jobs seems more the norm than the exception? In spite of how too many here look/ behave, you are all not stupid and can see what is going on around you? And I would bet most of you know how much you are earning and when your last pay raise was?
The media have been putting out the numbers for the State and P'burg Friday and Saturday. I am posting this on Saturday as I have noted posting 2 or 3 days before publishing.
………………….State...…………………….2018...………………………...Unemployment.……….……….2017
June 5.3% May 5.4% 5.0%
P'burg
June 5.7% May 5.2% 5.4%
As I have noted before, "What the Hell is happening here"? This is Summer; when things should be booming and everything all out? Can't say much on Vienna, maybe part of the overall P'burg numbers? But we don't have much going other than Retail/ Mall, so not like we have much that will change except for Tourism and that for sure would be in P'burg overall.
Are the folks in this area so drugged out that even with a good rehab, are still unable to get a job? Or are they people looking for work that cannot pass the Urine Test? Somethings wrong??
It is somewhat depressing to see the Governor speaking on all the jobs and invite anyone and everyone to come here for them. What is happening as I post this to train and get our folks into the job market in a positive way? As usual, I think someone is not being honest?
On the 26th, Mr. Loughry got himself indicted again. Trial is said to be in October, but it would be surprising if it goes even than?
Looking in the Daily Blat for Friday, was looking at the "hand drawn memo" attributed to Mr. Loughery while he said under oath that he knew nothing of what had gone on? I would suspect that in most places that might well qualify as perjury? That alone in a real Court of Law to include a Legislative Process makes him toast. That is how Mr. Clinton got impeached, he lied under Oath and not his hanky panky in the Oval Office area. But remember, this is West Virginia and the Law(s), here are in many cases far different than in other places.
Am noticing how the Daily Blat can take a 10 minute meeting and stretch it out for days in the Daily Blat as it tries to cover up so much wrongdoing here for all the wrong reasons.
Again, back to the Friday Blat where a big todo was made on "amending" the Recycle Contract to include words on "competitive bidding". Why was this an issue? Because as with many other business dealings it was just to renew what was done over the years without any attempt to legally do what was seemingly required by Law?
This is just another attempt to cover up the almost automatic renewals going on for years and questionable if even done extensions?
And again the Blat goes all in on the Letter from the County Commission to Vienna on River Access off of 12th St by the old VUB site. This was more of a Mr. Archer's efforts to beat a dead horse with its own unshod leg.
Interesting comment was that the property behind Cheddar's, belongs to the Ohio Valley University (another of Mr. Rapp's and Mr. Thornton's special deals), where it is more in Truth a Land Contract that has not been or is at least still up in the air and not been consummated?
I will speak more on this later as it was part of a large number of issues but this one in particular allowed Mr. Rapp to again hand Mr. Conley his head. 'nuff said'.
