Busy talking about the support Vienna and the P.D are giving to the Club(s). What does that really consist of at this time? Blurb in the Paper; maybe in other media? PHOTO OP folks; PHOTO OP.
I noted that it was probably another attempt to cover up the P*** Poor Performance he has shown in the past four years to deal with the drug problems in Vienna. Each time he gets shown for the miserable Mayor he is when it comes to taking care of the City as a WHOLE, he ends up in a Photo Op trying to look like he gives a tinkers damn. No matter what this guy does, he will ALWAYS be 4-5 years late to the party. Even Williamstown got more involved a good 18 months before he finally woke up and started to deal with the problem.
Media can fawn all over him, but it will not change his P*** Poor Performance in his first four years of screwing Vienna into the ground. Remember or not I posted on people calling me up and even telling on the streets as I walked the 'hoods on the drug problems and no satisfactory response from our local constabulary.
One can blame Mr. Young when Police Chief and I do too a certain degree. He should have if it was any kind of an issue to him retired/ resigned in open protest at the lack of action in Vienna? I also know that with Mr. Rapp, it is about imagery; the next photo op/ interview. There is no glory in admitting how bad the City had gotten or even a drug bust without a lot fanfare for him.
Decisions were made by some to try and hide the issues because of the bad publicity that may have come out?
The Drug Free Clubs are exactly what I have been harping on in "Don't let them Start". The person I was talking with noted the narcon issue on getting them just about everywhere now. What these will probably turn out to be is a license to commit suicide. As one educated Medic noted, the Narcon injectors/ shots have to be increased each time a person O. D.s for it to have a positive effect. In simple terms folks if the lad or lassie is on his/ her third O.D., he/ she will probably need three (3) or more Narcon to recover? Is this a hard and fast rule? I don't know, but I do hear where some people have had to have as many as seven Narcon to recover. I think that was a Morgantown individual?
Remember that baby that got O.D., had to have two (2) Narcon to become stable with the medics.
The users don't understand the tolerance their bodies have built up and the need for more to recover to begin with. Than the issue with whomever is giving the Narcon? If a bubba, he/ she may have no concept of multiple shots/ injectors? And that does not include how to get that many when needed.
When the folks catch someone who is in dire straits from an O.D., they should be immediately put in a Rehab Facility for at least six months. And that is sadly not guarantee. I am very, very pleased that Washington and Wood Counties have pressed charges against two dealers who are alleged to have sold drugs that subsequently killed the buyers. I hope they are tried and our bleeding heart Judicial System puts them away for years. This will be a hard lesson for the Dealers that there is a price for a quick buck and a new client. But it will never replace one who has been lost. And sadly, more will relapse than most want to acknowledge.
If you folks don't watch your loved ones close and be quick to intervene, than as I posted the other day be prepared to bury them early. It only takes one try to get addicted- permanently.
I have remembered since 1968 my Cousin dying of a prescription drug overdose on 4th of July weekend. It has been 49 years and the pain has lessened, the memory has not. And that was not the unbelievably strong drugs on the streets today!
My friend said I should be out talking to some of these folks on drugs. I said all I could do is tell them the Truth and many do not want to hear it. If they can believe the Bull S*** being put out that Pot is NOT a gateway drug, than there is not much more I could say to them?
Parents, Teacher's, Coaches, REAL Friends, keep your eyes open. 'nuff said'.
