Honestly am not happy with my experiment to Note the beginning and ends of comments versus what is the subject of them. So will go back to the NOTE: in RED that I put in and it will come up on the FB site in black/ white. I suspect the folks are smart enough to understand that idea? And for those of you that are in Africa, Asia or South America that take the time to read this, I hope you will bear with me and take the NOTE: for what it is.
The Daily Blat did a survey on "Will West Virginia's memorandum of understanding (MOU), with a Chinese company be affected by a potential trade war". Only 90 people answered, and of those 78.89% said yes, while 21.11% said no. The NOs have it. The Chinese play the long game and by that I means Decades/ Centuries, not months. In the short term, will hunker down and wait. In a period of time be it a year or ten, the whole business will have blown over and the game will continue. Could be the 21.11% which is about 19 people were the Chinese and possibly some of the other Asian Students over at Mariette College? Not too sure that many of us are smart enough to understand a "long game" versus an hour or two in World time?
See the Council Agenda is out for the 28th. It is Monday here (25th), at mid-day so it is out early and a check of the Calendar for the City does not yet show any "Special Meeting" for the Burgess and Nipple Contract approval. Am a bit suspicious that a meeting was held, publicized very quietly and is also now history? Once again neighbors, you get what you vote for.
Hope to see a lot of you there tonight? While not always informative; is for sure entertaining.
See where Hope Gas, DBA Dominion Gas is requesting yet another rate increase. Rational is: "to approve cost recovery" (Note; means the rate payers/ users pay to maintain Stock Pricing and protect Dividends), of projects to replace, upgrade and expand natural gas utility infrastructure (Note: this is to put in larger piping to enable shipments of Oil/ Gas to the East Coast for export to China and Europe), that are deemed to be just and reasonable and in the public interest" Seems Gas is not just holding steady now but actually on increase? Some due to Coal Power Plants being shut down, but I think more so export as I cautioned months back when the above China/ West Virginia MOU went into play. Once again if I may- "long game". It may well be that if you have any money, get some Gas/ Oil stocks. And not likely to go down.
Have watched over the past few weeks as Mr. Loughry is not just indicted in Federal Court for a plethora of alleged illegal acts, but has been tried, considered guilty and the Governor, both Senate President and Delegates are all after him to hang (resign). But in the collective defense of the above three plus a cast of dozens, he is innocent until proven guilty? If just a few of the charges are true and I have no reason to believe the Court will stop at a few, he will for sure get the rope, whatever that will be? Three hundred years in a Federal Prison in Arizona or Southern California playing Golf and complaining that his sun tan is uneven?
Might be more valid if he were to be turned over to the West Virginia Court System where it would be possible to give Parole/ Probation with a $50.00 fine and the promise to never do it again. Plus the State Bar in whatever capacity would have to suspend his license for at least a week or two.
The first option could be excessive punishment. After all, too much fun in the Sun could lead to Melanoma after a decade or three? The second one would fit in better in how West Virginia Government Officials at whatever level, be they Elected or Appointed are made to pay as small a price for a crime, no matter how large? I will admit, I am still waiting for that one honest Judge or Policeman to knock on my door as was pointed out months back by a Federal Employee?
Will comment on the "what happened" from the Council Meeting later. 'nuff said'.
