Even Mr. Rapp at the Hearing/ City Council Meeting tonight (Thursday, 26th), commented he had trouble breathing all day. I would agree, if I had Cancerous Tumors in my Lungs, instead of just my environmental issues, I too would be struggling. So his difficulties are for sure understandable. Maybe, he should consider a small Oxygen Machine if he doesn't have one stashed somewhere now?
Is good the folks are getting the fire more and more under control. Seems DEP is finally off its duff and starting to "demand" paperwork compliance on the "who, what, when and where" of the contents of that building.
Keep hearing where the owner recycles various plastic and other wasted material from the U.S. and I believe it was said overseas. We need be VERY careful of what comes in from "overseas". Could easily have more than just scrap plastic in this containers or however it is delivered here. Many Asian Countries are NOT our friends and not shy in any case of adding a bit of this or that to a shipment to get rid of it. Can not be too cautious....................
And if that warehouse was being in any way, shape or form for any production/ manufacturing of any reusable material, that changes the entire complexion of what could have been going on down there and how it may have influenced the fire?
I had been very hesitant to speak at the Hearing Thursday as I was concerned that if Mr. Rapp went nuts on me, he might try to shut the rest of the speakers down. He did have a set to with Ms. Harris and she finally got her point across on what she alleged were some pretty tough and insulting comments from Mr. Rogers about her.
Presented my facts on the Rate Increases for 2011 and either 2014, 2015 or 2016 depending on when one got their water meter converted from a 1/2" or 5/8" to 3/4" meter and the either $2.50 or $2.30 INCREASE in water charges per month. Than I noted the $608,800., dollars that could/ should have been used to build up the Sewer Plant Bond Payments for two (2) years at $11,000/ month in round numbers ($250,000.). Than the Meter Conversions that were about another $358,000., down the drain that would have solved the Water issue.
I had the most interesting experience listening to what has turned out to be absolute lies on what we need the Rate Increase for Thursday night. The City once it got past the necessary vote has now got out and probably did before meeting that at the VUB Meeting scheduled for the 1st of November, will be the "Discussion on Sewer Extension for Rosemar Road to Rosemar Meadows". Not a damn thing on wells 7 & 8 and how we will all die if we have another emergency here; not a damn thing on getting the Reserves back UP First before the next great adventure; not a damn thing about the 10" pipe to "level" the water all over the City if 7 & 8 can not be rehabilitated? They can and will be so another story bites the dust. Instead, it is the beginning of what I suspect is more of the payoffs to the Contractors/ Developers wanting Sewer to build their new developments on Rosemar?
Most of the City Council just talked and lied and lied and lied- as usual. More later next week.
Going back a bit in time, have to again note how the Daily Blat in the 24 of October "Our Opinion" column got all in that we should not believe everything we see/ hear from whomever, where ever. Then it goes on to say "As new, verified information becomes available, the PN&S, will keep you informed. You can count on it".
So why in this sudden surge to reporting the Truth, has Vienna STILL managed to be avoided when the so called "Rubber meets the Road" like in "new verified information" such as the huge waste in Water/ Sewer dollars? Why the "gee, we don't know about the other two (2) Rate Increases in 2011 and 2014 or 2015 or 2016 depending on where one lives in Vienna?
Again, I will question the Truth that comes out in the Daily Blat? Seems a lot missing? So with that, I will say "nuff said".
