The Roundtable that happened yesterday almost seemed to have everyone with a script to complain about Government Regs/ requirements that they don't like. Mr. Kelly was all over the inadequate pay for teachers and the numerous teacher shortages. Start with changing some of the benefit package and putting those dollars into pay raises. Than here is one that won't be a monetary cost necessarily; support the teachers in dealing with the incorrigibles in the classes. Teachers don't need to be cursed, attacked, treated like dogs. Might be most of those kids would probably treat their animals better the teachers? Respect for them is free, the return worth thousands. Treat them right, they will come. One third of homes in Wood County on the Homestead exemption per Mr. Shaffer. Probably because the younger ones get the Hell out as soon as they can. This is due to the low wages paid in the State. One can love their family; absolutely adore their community; but one can get awful hungry living on minimum wage.
Mr. Rapp was on the stage over John Mansville and his problems with DEP. As I can recall, he was Hell bent for election to get that property. Well, sometimes one should be careful of what one wishes for; one might just get it. I suspect he is going to have more problems with DEP before they become less? Some things he brings onto himself. I have stated several times that the City Council by and large is arrogant and disrespectful to most of those who live in the city. Sometimes, that person kicked to the curb can still bite one in the ankle......
As a matter of fact, in an earlier posting (13 July 2015), I commented on the possible problems with a location in the North West quadrant of the area to be used as a park. I asked about if DEP/ EPA needed to come in and do some more examining? Now Mr. Rapp and/ or the Council could have addressed what has been done around that old baseball field area to determine contamination there due to the Chromium Bricks being dumped with possibly other items. Nothing back on that. So where I come from, no answer is in itself an answer. Basically we don't want to talk about it is how I would read them?
It has been an interesting observation that no one at the City is reading my Blog. I think it is read and re-read. The initial view to see what they need to do/ think about for damage control. Second is there anything they think they can sue me for? But two attorneys, one in another state and one here are quoting a little known item. They call it the First Amendment (aka) "Freedom of Speech". So unless I get even more stupid and threaten someone or say something really way off the rails, I am alright in my observations.
Note that my observations on the Ravine in the new park area could have been addressed at a Public Forum if the City had not decided that "Freedom of Speech" was too "insulting and uncivil" to some of them? Three little words City of Vienna at ALL levels. DO YOUR JOBS and four more to help to do them better: NO NEPOTISM, CRONYISM, FAVORITISM. The best reward then will be best applicant should get to fill any opening.
Tomorrow, I will be posting the other letter I referenced the other day. I confirmed it was where I sent it and had been forwarded appropriate Department for evaluation.
