Mr. Justice commented the other day he needed to find a bucket with $1.25 in it for every living person in the State. Unless my calculator(s) are wrong, that is only about $2,289,000. Million? $1.25 x 1,831,000 people (allegedly living here)? What the Hell is that going to pay for? Pay/ Benefit increases for the State Workers? Or just the Teachers/ support staff? My God Mr. Justice, the Election is over, stop pandering for votes. You and Mr. Kelly are dreamers to say the least. Nice number, but I don't follow it? But I am very willing to admit, that I am not very smart?
Than, comes our old/ new Politician, one Mr. Azinger the Younger on raising the toll from Charleston to P'burg. "We don't need to give people a reason to not come to West Virginia". If that is all that would stop them from coming here Sir, than they did not want to be here to begin with. We are just a "wide spot in the road" from A to B.
I am going to again go out on a limb and say "there WILL be Tax Increases" once the lads and lassies get to Charleston come February. There is no way around it. The only question is can/will Mr. Justice have the stones to go into and slash the fat from so many of the Departments? Starting down ONE level down and NOT at the lowest level and come up? He has apparently identified a whole lot of suspect positions in the State Education Department. That can flow right on down into each County BOE.
I just sit and cringe at how naive' or corrupt so many are in State Government at whatever level. It is such a "good ol' boys" club with each and everyone of them looking the other way when a whiff of the Favoritism, Cronyism and Nepotism stench blows their way. There use to be the famous three monkeys: See no Evil (eyes covered); Hear no Evil (ears covered); Speak no Evil (mouth covered). Multiply that by how many thousands and thousands of Public Employees at all levels and the true magnitude of the corruption problem begins to surface in this State.
As I have said before, in my dealings with State Agencies, the County Departments and by God and by Damn the City of Vienna; there is not one person/ Agency that will look out for the common person versus an Appointed/ Elected Official. There are for sure some good people; but they are all qualified to be a monkey for a day. I can understand losing a job and the perks with it for having a conscience and/or obeying the Oath of Office each of them took. Stones are at a premium these days folks; they have been and are priceless in Government.
Mr. McCain from Arizona made the statement that there is not much problem with phony voting, i.e. dead people. Even Mr. Rhodes of the Wood County Clerk's Office spoke of the Integrity of the System. Said it is a major effort to check the Death Certificates, Obituaries and double registrations in multiple Counties. There is no problem here.
Yet, there was an article in the local media where it was noted the problem with some West Virginia Counties having more registered voters in them than people living in them? Now for the record, I like Mr. Rhodes, courteous, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. But come on Mark?
I will bet any of you a $1.00- 2.98, that there are a lot more suspicious voters than anyone is willing to admit? It is an old, old process of the dead in Chi-town and all over Louisiana would rise up to vote or as in Chi-town: the Vote Early/ Vote Often rule applied. The Calendars change, the habits do not.
It is hoped the new Sect. of State and Re-elected Atty. General bodes well here? But if it is just business as usual with hiding the illegal activities be they Criminal or Civil will not feed the bull dog. 'nuff said'.
