She was at the start wanting to ask some personal and political type questions. I tried to be as honest as I could with her. She was asking about my Faith and what Church I attended? I advised was raised as a Catholic. She told me her Faith which I will not mention here as I don't try to talk about folks in a personal vein without their permission. She asked what I thought about Faith? I said how a person worships God is their business and I have no negatives against any of them. Then I hedged and said I had been having to think some about Islam as there were so many of them that would kill me as I was a Christian. She laughed at that I guess because of how I said it?
Then we spoke some about Sanders, Clinton, Kasich, Trump and Cruz. She advised her choice and I gave her my thoughts on who would make the best Candidate not just against Ms. Clinton, but in a long term approach to saving our Country. She noted that Mr. Soros (an almost fanatical left winger), billionaire was financing Mr. Kasich's campaign in Ohio to help him defeat Mr. Cruz and Mr. Trump; both of whom he (Mr. Soros), apparently hates? Surprised the bejeebers out of me. I found this in researching:
John Kasich supported by Democrat George Soros in Ohio primary today
Democratic billionaire George Soros and his supporters are financing Republican John Kasich's campaign in Ohio, according to a recent article in the DC Gazette. The article went on to say that Ohio Republicans might be affected in who they vote (the article was written before the Tuesday Primary), for when they go to the polls today if they realize the billionaire who has supported both Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama is working for a Kasich victory in the Republican primary. Soros reportedly has shelled out $202,000 through his "Soros Fund Management" to help Kasich defeat Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz today.
That was in an "Examiner.com" article. I have no idea on the validity of this source and wish to give a Caveat Emptor on it. It went on with this bit:
According to the article, a vote for Kasich is equivalent to a vote for the Marxist agenda of Soros. According to the article written by Rick Wells, Kasich agrees with Soros that we should have open borders, even going so far on one occasion as to promise that within 100 days of taking office he'll enact an amnesty for illegal aliens. This for damn sure startled me!
Two Wall Street titans who helped Soros make his billions have channeled hundreds of thousands of dollars into Kasich's presidential bid. According to the Federal Election Commission records, Scott Bessent gave $200,000 to a pro-Kasich super-PAC. Stanley Druckenmiller, who was Soros' lead fund manager from 1988 to 2000, donated $150,000 to the same super-PAC, according to Mother Jones
This for sure surprised me to find out as I have noted Mr. Soros would tear this Country apart rather than see it go back to the political center or the Right. I consider him an alleged major threat to the U.S. in its long term viability.
Is Mr. Kasich being maligned here, I don't know but I guess I will have to watch a little closer on what Mr. Soros is up too? Lord help us if he gets anymore influence anywhere with anybody.
The lady then went on to tell me about how the water coming down the street in her area goes down her driveway and causes a lot of damage in her property. Spoke to the Water Board folks, but there seems to be no money as it is being used to replace fire hydrants. Think Mr. Metz is dropping the ball here? City just had to redo a big section of pipes up by 59th Street and pay a claim for water damage.
Seems that the City has been double shuffling who they are hiring and where they are ending up. In Budget/ Finance meetings talk about hiring this guy or that guy and then find out did something else plus. Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky; all the time.
See where the City is all in for "volunteerism". And that is a very good thing when someone can step up and do whatever they can for those in need of some assistance. In fact at the City Council meeting on Thursday a couple of ladies will get their just recognition. Sad, it had to be used as a photo op at the same time for some who only help themselves and not our wonderful little Community. Stepping up with no expectation of any reward other than that feeling of satisfaction in a job well done is one of the best things a person can do. Taking advantage of some one else's good deeds for one's own benefit is a bit questionable? But in the end, I guess the ladies getting their just reward is the best of the deal? Actually, only one showed up. And the other never got even a word. Wonder why no show and no recognition? More on the Water Board and Council meeting in a few days.
Pond Run is as usual a filthy mess behind Sam's. So with the problem of not enough folks to do the necessary clean up; getting the volunteers out will enable the City to shine for a little bit. Good deal!
Knowing that the City reads my blog at least will hopefully "encourage" some to do their duty to the Community. There are many, many things that need worked on for the day to day benefit of the Residents. So hopefully as I kick a can and a scorpion is dislodged, something may get some attention? It does little good to have so many employees if even the really good one's are not allowed to excel. 'nuff said.
