Seems a silly question to ask if the new Carbonyx Plant will help the Coal Industry? ANYTHING that uses Coal will help those miners...............
Prescription drugs cost up $2 Billion in the last year. Supposedly for profit reason only. No surprises there as greed continues to exceed need. No one in sight to help those who need the help the most. The insurance companies are also not helping with their ever increasing deductibles. Seems some are now up in the $10- 12K level before insurance begins to kick in. I still have a $1,000 amount left on my 2016 deductible but just one prescription for $1039., will balance that out. Only Brand name I have left and that is Januvia. Bunch of thieves alive and well in this Country and they are NOT all in the usual places like the Government.
GOOD NEWS----- West Virginia is up from 43rd to 39th in the children being happier and to me most important Healthier. I know 39th is still way down the food chain, but it shows that finally after all the B.S., some of the State Programs are paying off. Preventive Care seems to be getting the heads up on this deal and that will of course fall under ObamaCare. Since we have Obamalite as Mayor, I expect he will arrange a media event for pictures and a microphone to extoll how he and his mentor have put out the effort to help the kids? A good tooth check up and a shot or two a lot more valuable to the tykes than popcorn, water and a movie. I have been a firm believer in enjoying what I eat versus a pain in my mouth from rotten teeth. And I know a lot of parents are against shots/ vaccinations, but I know they work and enable the little ones to become big ones. My two girls as an aside with the use of fluoride in the water NEVER had a cavity up too at least age 20. Now, I don't know as asking about the teeth would just tick them off. Preventive Medicine WORKS......
Noticed in the Events portion of todays (Wednesday), paper all kinds of activities from now through the end of August. Exception is Vienna is seems? Yet, all kinds of neat stuff going on; guess only for the Vienna Voting folks and families. No better way to show the bells and whistles than a Circus.
See where there is concern showing its head about what is going to happen now with the legalization of bigger and more powerful fireworks. As you all know, the tents are up at the Mall and seem to have some traffic. Mr. Rapp says City Council will have to talk about them? I suspect all he is looking at is the Sales Tax Dollars. Will be a short but powerful boost to the June/ July amounts compared to just sparklers. The potential injuries and collateral damage to property and pets will be on the property/ animal owners. Remember the City Slogan: Tax Dollars uber alles ( over all). Properly supervised/ used and with time for folks to get ready at least mentally, fireworks can be fun.
Watching the Wood County Board of Education (BOE) wiggling around to get their bond projects list set to maximize State contribution. Seems they are planning to cut it back. Have wish list for about $136 Million in new this and fix that. But it appears the State Building Authority (SBA), only willing to pony up about $10- 15 Million to support Wood County. BOE bond would be in area of $35- 40 Million to get that support. Would just cover the new Elementary School in Williamstown near $24 Million and another $14 Million to renovate and expand the Wood County Technical Center. All the brouhaha on roof repairs and so on appear to be in doubt. Combined amount if all goes well would be $45- 55 Million total. Balance as approved would leave at least $7 Million for repairs? Seems BOE is playing with ideas for Sports Facilities and I would suggest that maybe money for School Buildings has a MUCH higher priority if anyone is minding the store? Plus as always with anything concerning the BOE is the almost automatic pay increases. Sure everyone would like more money and for sure, some deserve it. But as always a safe, secure, properly maintained building is the higher need.
Could just see Mr. Rapp salivating at what ever comes out of the P'burg Utility Board having to make plans on protecting the P'burg wellheads all the way up to Grand Central Mall. Lot of room to do something to spend money for some type of bells and whistle testing/ observation site.
Now that most of the smoke and mirrors have played out on the C8 water "Crisis", we now know as was put out before about connecting the water systems behind Home Depot. Still even more brings into question the huge pretty blue tank at the end of 9th St.? If a storage facility was needed to give support to P'burg, could they have not built it themselves on P'burg property?
It is always a surprise on how little we seem to know about the Vienna water shed considering how long the City has been here and had water/ sewer services? The issue to not only Vienna for the many potential contaminants to the water; but more so to P'burg from the Ohio River seeping inland to get into some of its wells? As a water level drops for whatever reason such as drought, heavy usage or a potential settlement of the ground due to natural effects as examples; it opens the possibility for say water from the River to seep into an area previously not penetrated. I believe I have heard Mr. Metz comment on the River seeping inland towards wells 7 &8? Could have been 11& 12, but I think he said 7 &8? That would eventually cause those well to be unusable wouldn't it? Just asking? 'nuff said'
(Paid for by the Candidate- Lawrence J. Wilson for Mayor of Vienna).
