Had someone ask me about you know who and her "Cause du Jour"? Seems she had posted something that the person thought was a lot like a post I had made a few days earlier? I said that it was common for the person to find a share/ reference from me, than go into that article to find something to use. What tripped it up this time was that the source was so unusual and seldom noted even by me. He asked "isn't that plagiarism"? I said it would depend on what was written and where? Would not apply here in Wood County for sure.
Monday, I was minding my own business and hearing the beep- beep- beep, that many Commercial Vehicles use when backing up. It is pretty common here with a person who works for the City having a VUB vehicle here all the time. But than it got to be too many beep's going on? So I took a look out the window, and the street was full of Street Department Trucks. Apparently, Mr. Metz had decided to take care of his employee and their fav' neighbors and come in to repair the street. Well, they had blocked it off at both ends. So I rushed to get my rig out of the garage and around into the back street. Since I know about that 80' Right of Way on the Streets in this part of the Ghetto, had no problem getting out.
when I called Mr. Metz up, he said they were not to have closed off the street. As I am posting this, the street is still closed off at one end. My neighbor could not get down to my place so instead we met up in the back street. Who knows, maybe everyone else knew about the closure and because I am Mr. Rapp's favorite constituent, I wasn't advised?
In any case, it is sometimes a good thing to have a City/ VUB Worker on the block. Will get it some attention quicker than you folks without anyone on yours. So the Worker and fav' neighbors got their part fixed and the place where the vehicle is supposed to have burned is getting done. As I write, 8 vehicles, two other pieces of equipment and trailers. Did not block 13th Avenue this time, but have 14th blocked in one lane.
A bit on the "First Responders Day" event in Vienna this past Saturday. It is probably a good thing for the kids to be familiar with those who are supposed to be their first line of defense against all comers? But when they themselves become a danger, than we have a problem.
Was watching the coverage in one of our local TV (Channel 15), media sources and noted a most disturbing and possibly endangering situation. A little girl had climbed into a Police Cruiser and was playing with the steering wheel. Okay, nothing wrong with that, right? But than I noticed that the keys were in the ignition. Hello, and she had her hands very close to where if not her, any child could have turned the vehicle on, reached up and put the vehicle in gear, be it forward or backward and the game was on.
And please just because it was a Police Cruiser don't say it could not happen? Children of all ages from pretty young to actual joy riders are taking off in vehicles by intent or accident all the time with sad results.
Mr. Rapp sat in the Council Meeting of the 23rd and praised his lads as one of the best Police Departments in the State. If this is an example of the attention being paid by at least one Officer in Vienna, the rest of the State must be in a very questionable condition?
And the for it to be said that the Officer's at the First Responders Event had to be ready to go at a moments notice does not feed the Bulldog. Those Vehicles should have been put out of service for the duration of the event.
The first picture shows the key in the ignition, the close proximity of the shifting lever and the second may identify the child and the car she was in?
Seems that you folks are getting directly or indirectly what you voted for?
There are pictures on Facebook also in my Timeline. Nothing to say, just shaking my head.
