The hoopla for the Library IF it helps the kids/ older folks is okay; politicizing it is a bit off the rails and I suspect sooner than later it will show its true colors?.
Sky is a bit clearer this A.M. (Sunday), but the air is a bit bitter to smell and is quick to cause environmental allegories to start to act up. So again, I need insure I keep my wife in and me too. Still want to do a quick chore that is why I mowed Saturday and paid dearly the rest of the day. Glad the chemicals burning were said to be nontoxic by local EPA. Don't believe it for a second. If the smoke is harmful/ dangerous to people with breathing issues, than it is not nontoxic.
The Special Forces SGT. Johnson who sadly passed in Niger this past week did, no matter what anyone says "Did know what he signed up for". This is a FACT of life for every Military, Police/ Fireman and the many other organizations where a man/ woman may not come home that night. I would be quite surprised if he had never talked with his wife and family on the prospect of him not returning. It is what those be they Combat/ Support or whatever when they close the "front door" each day. That is what separates most of the Men/ Women in this Country from those who will not know the final solution to a days' duty that may go wrong?
But one thing I am POSITIVE on, is he NEVER signed up to be in a fight between so many low life Media Sources and those even more low life Politicians trying to get publicity over his grave. He did what so many Brave Men have done- His Duty. That is what he did for you that never will go or do anything that is an iffy job in whatever manner. Those Men and Women go out and do there Duty. They are trained, motivated, damn sure brave as needed and what is the very life blood of our Country even it means they shed theirs.
I do not care if this young man was Black, Green, Brown or Yellow. He did his by God and by Damned Duty. Allow him the dignity and respect he is due no matter where he was when he paid the ultimate price for God and Country as did the other three Special Forces SSG's that day. The Progressive Liberals in this Country sicken me to hear and see how they desecrate the memories of those who died so they could behave like absolute horses' asses. And that has evolved all the way down to Vienna.
See on the early bird news Monday, where they have talked to the Pulmonologist at Camden Clark and apparently the smoke is dangerous to folks under certain conditions. See, we need to see the other shoe to drop when Government starts telling us things? Have been out a couple of times to try and find my paper from the Daily Blat. It comes at all times in the morning and so one needs to take an occasional peek. The air is said to be from the ESE which will blow it up into our area more so. And have gotten a bit of reaction to it, but nothing serious. Still, early on in this mess, I was suspicious of non-toxic? If one is asthmatic or any of the other breathing disorders to include just the environmental allergies I and many others have, it is distressful and for some can be fatal.
The Wood County Commission is asking the son of the Property Owner for help in relief for fighting the fire. Has anyone checked his fire insurance coverage? Why could that not be used to help in the mess that started in and on his property? Can the County put a lien on the property for some sort of relief if and when it is sold? It isn't over yet.
Was talking to a guy who said had worked at Borg Warner/ GE for over 30 years. He said when there is a fire around plastic, a lot of bad stuff goes into the air.
The initial comments that there was nothing to fear in the plumes of smoke all over the place from the EPA/ DEP at the beginning were not reassuring then and now show a bit too fast to the race. There will be need for more review to check out the contents of that building.
Would like to say that even though there is some criticism of Mr. Tebay and Mr. Columbo for being of the mind to let that huge fire burn itself out, Keep the edges tamped down and let it go. it is a practice on huge and unwieldy fires to do just that. And I for one can see where it was/ is a tough, hard fire to deal with. There are said to be 30 fire departments rotating in and out to fight it. That is a tremendous amount of manpower and equipment where most are VFD in nature. This area certainly does not need a crew from any VFD or full time Department to lose their lives because of the unknown in the building to blow up on them as they attempt to access for control if the Chief in Charge does not feel it absolutely necessary?
And as for Mr. Couch being all over this thing, I also note he is up for Re-election in 2018 and that many times impacts the actions of an incumbent who may feel threatened?
Probably, the best thing we one and all can do is to stay away from the area. Yes, people love to be lookie loo's and go see the action. But until and when it is done and over we are doing the fire fighters the best service to stay out of their way.
And of course a whole lot of "Thank You's" to them would be quite appreciated. 'nuff said'.
