And yet again, our County Sheriff has had a fender bender. Third since July. Fortunately no one hurt and not much damage it is said? As much as I like Mr. Merritt and respect him as a Vet, it would appear that he may have a problem with driving nowadays? Once he leaves office at the end of this month, the County Insurance may begin to go down, but what about him wandering around in his POV? Am between the Devil and the deep blue sea on this one? I really like him as a person, but as a Government Employee, maybe his right to drive a Government Vehicle should have been looked at very carefully after the second time he had a fender bender?
There are rumors he left the scene before the other vehicle owner showed up? But in his defense, there is also a question on if he left the appropriate notice or not? Can one suggest he put a sign on his personal vehicle on who he is so we can be very observant/ careful around him in the future?
After one of the Fire Board Meetings on the new Fire Fee (Tax), he invited me to call him anytime. I almost did as I enjoyed speaking with him. He is such a difference from what one runs into locally. A pretty smart guy I thought. Will wish him the best in his retirement and hopefully no more bumps.
Went to the City Council Circus Thursday (22d) and there was a group of folks that came in to play some Christmas Carols for the City Council. Don't know who they were or where they were affiliated with, but enjoyed the brief interlude of their playing. They were pretty good too.
As many of you know, West Virginia in the past year from July 2015 to 1 July 2016 per the article I am quoting is down another 10,000 people. Total of 23,000 since 2010. Suspect that even though it was said a lot of the losses were due to job losses in the Coal Industry. Suspect that a pretty good number were do to just no decent jobs in most areas?
When the latest case went against DuPont the other day in the Jury award, Chemours was asked for a comment and it was very quick to state that the decisions by the Court were against DuPont and its liability for the award payment. Seems that the planned hand off of the C8 cases and other later problems to Chemours is not going quite as planned?
Got an interesting notice from a man in Texas on my blog. He found it interesting it seems even though he is some distance away and has not been here from what I could read in his interest? But I did forget for a while that I had people reading from Texas, California, Arizona, Illinois, the Carolina's. Even have some from the Philippines that I would not know if I walked by them on the street? Some had lived here and moved as far too many do. Others had never been here and found the data provided of interest. I stress as much as possible on the Truth of what great people we have here versus the poor Governance. Will suspect that the ones from the Philippines are interested because of how similar the City Government here is to the one's there? Like peas in a pod.
Was sad on all the money that Vienna got for the so called needs of the new Gymnasium. City as usual has gone tin cup in hand to get grants that it did not need or deserve. So few dollars, so many good uses for the dollars and they end up in Vienna for a use that is not worthy.
What is not understood by most and ignored by some is that Vienna is not City for people. It is a "For Profit" Business with huge dividends for some and the double middle digit for most of us.
Now I do NOT want anyone to say/ think I am after Ms. Tiano for her grants. She has a business and does as she is asked/ needs to earn her fees. I do not do as the City does, lie about the message and attack the messenger. 'nuff said'.
